Spontaneous Theatre
Participants go through a series of ice-breaking warm-ups, then a series of theatre games and exercises. This workshop emphasizes teamwork and having fun.

Puppet Construction and Performance
Each participant chooses a character that he or she is interested in. The students sculpt, cast, and paint the heads of their characters, as well as making costumes and props. In small groups (3-4) the students develop and present a short play involving the puppets that they have made.
10+ hours class time with homework
Shadow Puppet Construction and Performance
Small groups develop a theme for a short play or scene. Each participant develops a full color shadow puppet and they collaborate to make scenes and props. Then as a group they rehearse and present their play.
3-5 hours class time
Giant Puppet Construction
The students work together to decide on what type of character, creature, or symbol they would like to create. The students collaborate to build this giant puppet, to be presented at a parade, festival, or open house.

Trash to Art (Found Objects)
The students are given an assignment to find trash and discarded objects that can be made into puppets. Using these objects plus basic tools and materials, each student makes a puppet.
1-5 Hours class time
Mask Creation and Performance
Students are given the oppurtunity to perform with a collection of professional masks. Then with the help of an instructor they learn how to create their own, sculpting with clay and casting with paper mache.
